Jeff is a Partner and lead executive compensation consultant managing Meridian’s Chicago office. He advises clients on a broad range of executive compensation and corporate governance matters, including setting executive and director pay levels, designing short- and long-term incentive plans, analyzing pay and performance alignment, assessing custom peer groups, developing severance arrangements and aligning compensation programs to business strategy and results. Jeff also assists clients with compensation strategies related to acquisitions and divestitures and advises companies preparing for IPO and spin transactions.
Jeff began his career as a public accountant with Deloitte, primarily servicing the insurance industry. Prior to joining Meridian, he worked in the client finance group of a global advertising agency, supporting national and multi-national client accounts, and spent several years trading commodity options on the trading floor of the Chicago Board of Trade. He also spent over a year serving as a contracted Head of Executive Compensation for a Fortune 250 company.
Jeff’s clients span across multiple industries including Construction, Financial Services, Industrial Services, Information Technology, Manufacturing, Transportation and Utilities. He works with both public and private companies, ranging in size from small cap to the Fortune 250.
Jeff has been a presenter for such organizations as Corporate Board Member, NACD, Equilar and the NYSE Governance Series, guest-hosts Meridian’s Executive Compensation podcast and has published numerous articles on executive compensation topics.
Jeff received his M.B.A. from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University with concentrations in finance and management information systems. He has a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and marketing from the University of Dayton and is a Certified Public Accountant.
